A: They’re some of the frankly wonderful winning entries in our FreeTime competition, which helped home-schooling parents and distracted the little blighters for a few precious hours.
Like the love child of Tony Hart and Elon Musk, the mix of creativity and entrepreneurship gives us all hope for the future.

Lockdown-3. Not the beginning of 2021 we’d dreamt of! It has been tough. For everyone. And for those attempting home-schooling (again) it’s been next-level juggling.
So, we launched FreeTime, a competition to inspire the kids and keep them entertained. A respite package to give homeschooling parents a break from the grinder.
Creative prizes charmed children of all ages. And with a range of creative challenges, which varied from making your own lava lamp to writing and illustrating a storybook to directing your own movie, to growing a £1, there was something for everyone to unleash their creative minds on.
We were so overwhelmed and utterly delighted with the brilliant submissions, that TBH we couldn’t cope. So we had to draft in real-life poet and published author, Mark Cooper of Headless Chicken fame to help us judge.

How much money you can make starting with just £1?

Investing a £1 into the basic ingredients for bread Winnie baked up a loaf to sell. With the profits of her first sale she re-invested in more ingredients and was on to cooking up the next batch. She laddered her cottage industry up from there, and at the time of going to press had made a stonking £125…!!!

We were genuinely blown away by the brilliant entries. They were certainly a huge lockdown-3 highlight for everyone at The Liberty Guild. A huge thank you to everyone who entered.
